recently..there were more to challenge me

dad got a new job.

he's no longer self-employed.

he's no longer flexible in his time.

i don't go to school & breakfast with him and mum anymore

he don't fetch me after school anymore

i hafta wake up much earlier to travel more than an hr to school

travelling by train and bus is so much more boring and lonely :(

i guess i'm just too spoilt

i just cant get used to life now.

even after such a long time since jan

i have no choice but to be independent

no choice but to make new friends

have to do some modules alone

have to do projects with strangers

which i don't want to and hate to do so

i have to attend lectures alone

i gotta prepare myself to enter the workforce

i really don't understand the anxiety.

why is everyone so anxious and all charging towards the workforce

into getting a job, right before you even graduate.

i hate comparisons.

i am in the midst of trying to let mommy agree on my hk trip with ling and family.
it seems quite negative on the surface..
but i think i might stand a chance! :)
the terms & conditions are quite favourable to me now:


1. first and foremost! most imptly also, choo yi hasn't booked the tix yet. (yeah~)

2. 2ndly, it is an odd week. (as mentioned in the previous entry)

3. thirdly, the week that i will be travelling will be the 1st week of march.
(which means it is not considered v.near exams yet.)

4. 4thly, i am only taking 4 modules this sem, out of which:

- 1 is S/U
- 3 are examinable
- 2 are open book
- & the exam dates for the last 2 are 1.5 weeks apart.
(which means i have ample time to study)


5. fifth, i don't think i can concentrate in my books if i don't get to go!
(will be too depressed & distracted)
6. last but not least.. i think taking a 1 week break is not too much to ask for :)

hope my visa will be permitted by mummy!

then i will get to meet my elaine!!

went to school so early today!
its at 10am actually :P
and i was late for 30min :X
anyway the discussion was fruitful!
then met my dearest dear for lunch at mac!
a very big thank you to super delia!
for staying back in disgusting school to wait for me to lunch
and rejecting such a tempting offer (lunching with janice and cat. & janice is driving)




lecture is as boring as it can be!
but the thought of visiting baby joie and dinnering with huini cheers me up :)
my dearest joie is SO cute!
i can't stop praising her.

after her bath..i sneaked a short nap with her before meeting huini.

i went to walk around chinatown with ling and wei on mon!


F.U.N.!


but before that..
in the afternoon..
i met ling for lunch at yishun!
we had the nice popiah ( which is not very nice now)
and i had cool soursop for dessert!
i was so hardworking i walked to yishun to meet her!
aft that..we walked to sun plaza's library
and i borrowed a lot of books!
all about chinese festivals, cuisines, customs..etc



we walked back home when i took a bath before we set off to meet wei!
we had what ling craved for since duno when -

2. i will have to start scrimping and saving for the trip.

3. i must sacrifice my new year hong baos for the trip.

4. i have to get mummy's permission! (*most impt and biggest hurdle*)

i met up with ling on thursday.
we went to explore square2 at novena
then we went for lunch at hong kong cafe!
and so coincidentally i met ee han at square2 foodcourt! :)

aft lunch we walked all the way from hong kong cafe to sin ming court at upper thomson road!
just to try out the new flavours of our favourite cheese brownies- blueberry and mint!
the auntie was so nice
she treated us to fresh pineapple juice & some cookies she made to sell for cny- FOC!
aft that we bought the new flavours and walked over to pass to thong yi!
and aft which we went to thomson plaza to buy jan's birthday present.
in the midst, wei asked us out for dinner at 730pm at vivo.
and when we were done it was only 430pm
so..
we made a very adventurous decision!
we decided to make our way to vivo from thomson plaza..
on foot!
along the way we took nice pics! haha
which are also evidences and memories of our challenging walk.
we travelled along pathways..construction sites..highways..
we j-walked..crossed the overhead bridge..walked past several traffic lights!
and we stopped at bukit timah aft around 1.5 hr!
before we took bus 855 to meet wei & boon!

the walk was superb!
we had dinner at bosses
and we enjoyed the meal- guilt-free! =p
aft which..walked around vivo and i bought a new top from zara! for cny!!
ling was commenting that boon is so into preppy fashion nowadays!
which wei and i hafta agree! haha
but..kinda dun suit him..hahaha
well..boon's brainstorming on what to wear for his friend's birthday party with a vintage theme.
he shd just heed my advice and take my ideas. :)

sometimes..i jsut feel so fortunate to have such a close-knitted extened family

at least i know i wun be alone even if i have no friends. haha

accompanied bee to dr ang on wed night.

we met up for dinner..with phyllis- bee's gf- at swensens at thomson plaza

i was always filled with doubts regarding bee's gf..issit felice, felix or etc?

now i know! :)

back to thomson plaza..it's a must to tread the road of memories

reminiscence.

but things have really changed.

the house is gone..the garden is different

even thomson plaza and the shop houses around the area have all changed.

anyway..the visit to the doc was shocking!

we thought it would be dalacin-t and antibiotics ONLY.

BUT!

dr ang suggested injectionS on bee's FACE on the 1st visit. :X

and at 1 go..it was 20 injections!

had a farewell dinner for timah at the same old usual place - Vines Restaurant - at novena.
i suggested pepper lunch since we always frequent the same old place.
but i was refuted! :X
anyway the food there is nice too..
so no harm!

as usual.. huini and i shared a main course and she has the soup while i have the drink!

i was supposedly the organiser for the dinner..bt not every1 replied me..
so i thought perhaps i got their numbers wrong?
bt since its over already..let's just drop it. haha


elaine, ee han, huini, grace, catherine, shirlene, timah and ME met up..
we had a surprise - chiayin and her bf! :)
peixuan was "bai ka" tt day due to her interesting experience buying fbt shorts at emporium at amk! haha
the more intriguing thing is that 1 of the doctors she consulted actually said she was born with the fracture in her foot!

chiayin left aft dinner..well her bf left before dinner..
we supposed we will have another farewell dinner for elaine soon..
since she will be leaving for hk on the 26th jan.
huini is poor thing..aft plucking out her wisdom tooth..her right side of her face was swollen and there was this yellow patch which could be seen when she take pictures..quite scary... but the yellow thing seemed to have faded...luckily...


aft dinner we loitered for a few minutes along the corridors of the stretch of shops and settled for hong kong cafe as our dessert and coffee place!
as usual.. i had my yuan yang! yeah! and catherine copied me!!! but she and huini said i copied her.. :( i'm outnumbered!
we had hell lotsa fun at the cafe talking and reminiscening!
really hope we can always meet up and have so much fun..
without exams and tests and projects and stress and work! =p

too bad huini is working..

immediately after i reached home,
i switched on the com and came into my account,
using my fastest speed,
i created this post! haha


met up with jinxian, jinrui, martin and elaine for dinner at v'llage at heerens.
it was nice to meet up after such a long time.
i realised we haven met up for like 1 month or more!
but we still nv run out of topics and issues to make fun of the twins! haha
we went for a drink at the ice cream cafe at cine and had a wonderful time laughing and chatting!
think the place is called buttercups.


anyway..the real story goes...
on 6thJan'2007, a saturday night,
ling, boon, wei and fanny had the urge to go to the movies.
without fail, they met up at yishun GV and watched blood diamonds!
a very nice show! if not interrupted by some uh hem inconsiderate friends.
after the movie..they shared a cab to wei's hse to collect his car.
In the meanwhile, everybody could not decide where to have supper.
nobody wanted to make the decision either.
thus, wei suggested jalan kayu prata,
coz he craved for ice cream prata!
as suggested, they went there for supper!
the order list goes like this:

1. fanny: 1 egg prata + 1 teh peng = $1.50 + $1.20 = $2.70
2. Wei: 1 plain prata + 1 paper prata + teh tarik = $0.60 + $1.50 + $0.80 = $2.90
3. Ling: 1 paper prata with a few drops of honey + green tea = $5.00 + $1.30 = $6.30
4. Boon: 1 cheese prata + 1 chocolate prata + 1 green tea = $2.80 + $4.00 + $1.30 = $8.10


Notice the magical price difference higlighted in red!
with an additional few sprinkles of honey on your prata,
you will actually hafta pay $3.50 more!
ling could not take it lying down,
so she questioned the person who delivered the food.

conclusion: nobody knows why the few magical drops of honey cost $3.50!


ling felt scam-ed the whole night!
all the way from the moment she found out about the price till the minute she reached home.
i thought she might have lost sleep over it.
who knows?
especially when it happened to poor people like US!


i felt bad earlier on, after the movie too.
coz i discovered i did not inform mommy that i will be home late.
i took for granted that boon will tell her since she went to thong yi's house.

SORRY MUMMY!!

in the end i discovered i had 2 messages and 5 missed calls from her.
apart from that, she called ling, wei and even elaine!
oh no..i feel so bad!
ISUCK!! :(


anyway, out of point for a moment..
i think i have aged.
i dont crave clubbing outings and parties anymore..
to the extent that i dont even feel like getting out of my house during the whole 1 month holiday.
i dont like to talk on the phone.
i dont look forward to outdoor activities and gatherings.
however....
i crave cousins dinner and activities.
i enjoy mj marathons with cousins.
i love yummy bfast followed by a long snoozy sleep! (even though i know it's unhealthily fattening)
i totally dig dinners with cousins! sushi buffet~
and small chats over coffee..


i have become such a family person!
great change i thought..
but good things really dont last!
school is starting tmr.
BOO! YUCKS! SUCKS!
and i will be loner this sem without elaine around :(
but this being my final sem,
i hope nothing goes wrong.
and i can graduate in july'2007! :)
yeah!! looking forward to end of studying life.
